Whisky, an introduction to Liquid Fire

In meaning, whisky translates to “water of life”. Whisky originated from Scotland during the early 1400's, and is very popular around the world today. Even today, whisky tastes much like it did when it first began. Distillers of whisky place great emphasis on heritage and tradition, therefore do all they can to preserve the distinctive palate that whisky has always been renowned for.

Whisky is the perfect complement for any occasion, so as such; whisky is often drunk during weddings and ceremonies, with both the bride and groom drinking to signify a relationship that will stand the test of time. The drink isn’t only served at weddings, but is also popular in bars and restaurants.

Consumption of whisky can also serve as a gesture of new friendships.

Whisky makes a great gift for friends, employees, and even managers. Around the office, whisky is a very popular gift, or a drink shared between co-workers.

When someone has had a tough day at work, whisky can be sipped while mulling over the day's events and tribulations. It tends to relax the drinker, making them feel contented. Drinking enough of it, however, will make you feel like king of the world.

There are two spellings of Whisky. The first is 'Whiskey' with an 'e' before the 'y,' which refers to Irish distilled spirit. Whereas Whisky pertains to Scotch and American strains of the magical brew.

Although there are many ways to serve whisky, one of the best is straight, over ice cubes. If you combine whisky with ice cubes, the whisky slowly melts the ice, allowing the water to gradually soften the palate and texture of the spirit throughout consumption of the beverage, while relieving some of the “bite” in the otherwise strong and potent drink. People often refer to this as whisky on the rocks and it is often served in bars and restaurants. Whisky on the rocks is as refreshing as it is intoxicating.

There are several variations of whisky. Scotch whisky, Jack Daniels Tennessee whisky, and Wild Turkey Bourbon whisky are amongst the most popular. Scotch whisky is very popular in different parts of the world, while Jack Daniels is the preferred brand of whisky in the United States. Jack Daniels is served at many bars and restaurants, and provides a great mixed drink if you split it with Coca-Cola.

If you’re looking to buy some whisky for your home, you’ll never have trouble finding it. ABC stores are the best source, although if you live in a state such as California you can find it at your local grocery or department store. Whisky is one of the best selling forms of hard liquor, with thousands of people around the world drinking it frequently.

Easy to find and easy to use, whisky is easily one of the most versatile types of alcohol that you can buy. You can consume it at parties or social occasions, or savor it for your own personal, private enjoyment. Whisky in moderation has some health benefits. If you drink a shot of whisky a day, it has been said you will experience good health and a long life.

With various ways to be used and a bold crisp flavor, whisky is a truly commendable tonic.
